Roliza Muhammad- Founder of Lizza Creations
As a small-scale batik maker, Lizza Creations strives to ensure that each of our batik making processes has a minimal impact on the environment.
We are aware that a major issue in the batik industry is the management of dyed wastewater, which requires costs and technical knowledge that are not yet easily accessible to small-scale batik makers. In our capacity, water consumption is manageable due to low production.
For batik wax, we have adopted a recycling system, where used wax is collected and melted for reuse.
We hope that there will be more support in the form of education and technology to help small-scale batik makers transition to a more sustainable process, without sacrificing the beauty and identity of the batik itself.
